History
CurrentSAFE® was created in 2005 by Kevin Dickey, a highly experienced electrical contractor in Ohio, who saw a need for a proactive electrical hazard detection service in the residential sector. The company has expanded to include Commercial and Industrial Electrical Preventative Maintenance (EPM), focusing on meeting requirements imposed by OSHA—in particular the NFPA 70E regulations— and those of the insurance industry. Utilizing cutting-edge technology and software, the CurrentSAFE® EPM program will help ensure the safety of employees, the integrity of the electrical system, and the smooth operation of the facility.
Our People
Kevin is an electrical industry ‘lifer’. Starting at “Joe” Dickey Electric in North Lima, Ohio, in 1979, he served as a material handler, then climbed the ladder as purchasing agent, electrician, estimator, project manager, general manager, and company co-owner. His deep knowledge of the business and strong sales skills helped the family business grow from $3 to $25 million in annual sales.
In 1998 he became the Selling General Manager for the local commercial EPM service provider. In 2005, realizing the potential this service model had in the residential market, Kevin launched CurrentSAFE® Home Electrical Hazard Detection and never looked back.
Today, following the addition of the company’s commercial electrical preventative maintenance division, CurrentSAFE® has become the most respected national EPM dealer network in the nation under his leadership and vision.
Kevin and his wife, Jill, love to travel and spend time with their five children and two grandchildren.
Sharon has been the go-to person for our entire dealer network. Besides helping drive dealership sales, she handles new dealer onboarding, coordination of all training, annual reviews, and leads quarterly sales calls. When a dealer calls, they usually want to talk to Sharon. She has the answers.
A resident of rugged northwestern Pennsylvania, she finds time to golf, entertain friends and family, and grow a garden (although not always successfully.) She showed her adventurous side when she walked to the top of Mt. Vesuvius one year.
Alex works directly with our national network of electricians and technicians, teaching and supporting our EPM480™ Software.
When not spending time at home with his wife, Brittany and son Roosevelt, you’ll find him on the disc golf course, hiking, kayaking, skiing, or riding his motorcycle. His bucket list includes visiting all of America’s National Parks and attending a Cleveland Browns game at every NFL Stadium.
His community involvement includes serving as a middle school football coach, a deacon at Mt. Olivet Church, and member at Allen Lodge 276 in Columbiana OH.
Kiley has spent many years in the field as an electrician, performing electrical maintenance and testing, along with training electricians and technicians all over the world. Practical and energetic, he loves to connect with CurrentSAFE® students in our training sessions.
NFPA 70E and 70B? This guy knows his stuff. And when the topic is electrical safety, Kiley understands what it takes to prevent accidents on the job. World-class all the way!
Jill joined CurrentSAFE in January of 2016 as the CFO and Office Manager.
Following 28 years in the commercial construction and 5 years as a mortgage loan officer, Jill joined CurrentSAFE as our CFO and office manager.
Jill is what her family refers to as a “Dogaholic”. She is in her 5th year of volunteering at the local animal shelter. Reading, cooking, and convincing family members that they should join her at the dog shelter is what occupies much of her free time.
Kevin Dickey called on long-time veteran of the marketing wars, Richard Hahn, back in 2005 to create a name brand for his new EHD company. Richard came back with the name “CurrentSAFE” and he never left. Today, he is responsible for the development of all corporate and dealer-specific digital and print marketing strategies. His understanding of brand messaging and market dynamics have made him an invaluable asset to our team.
When not coming up with great ideas, you’ll usually find Richard on his bicycle putting in some major miles.
Nobody runs a training session like the inimitable Jim Smith. Seamlessly blending education, motivation, and humor into his presentations, Jim is nationally recognized as one of the most effective communicators in the electrical industry. Having him onboard as our Director of Training provides a level of expertise that keeps CurrentSAFE® that keeps our dealers ahead of the competition.
A Pittsburgh native, he loves those Steelers almost as much as he does his grandchildren.
